About us
In the 1960’s Bibian
Ballantyne returned to Barbados from the USA with a renewed plan of
becoming involved in the islands developing tourism industry.
Starting with just two of the traditional mini mokes, Bibian or ‘B’
as he is fondly known, found his niche on the west coast of the
island and so began a very happy career in the hired car industry.
‘B’ had two sons, Kim
and Rudy, who grew up amongst the cars spending more time playing on
four wheels than on
two feet. The boys went off to the USA to finish their
education and have both returned to Barbados and the family
business.
In 1995, ‘B’ acquired the Fidji Beach
House on 6000 sq feet of land. He subsequently built Bibian’s
Beach House on the waters’ edge.
Though still a small business, the
Ballantyne family has used size to their advantage by maintaining
the personal service and family atmosphere that Bibian created so
many years ago. “While our competitors strive to become the
largest, at Ballantyne’s we strive to be the best.”
Our mission is to consistently deliver
a quality product, friendly service and great value that exceeds
expectations and creates loyal customers.
We vow to always keep the highest
personal standards of integrity and honesty while creating a fun and friendly experience/environment for our
clientele.
About Barbados

Barbados gained its
independence from Britain on November 30th, 1966 and has
competently maintained a stable parliamentary democracy. The
country is cited as one of the freest nations in the world.
Barbados is a pear
shaped coral limestone island 21 miles long and 14 miles wide [total
area 166 sq miles] and is surrounded by 70 miles of spectacular
white sandy beaches. Barbados law stipulates that all beaches are
public.
The island has four
towns with its largest, Bridgetown, the capital. The west and
south-west coasts are highly developed for tourism while the north
and east coasts are rugged and less populated.
Geographically,
Barbados is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands and is known
for its flat landscape and gently rolling hills.
Historically, the
economy was based on sugar and rum. In recent times, the tourist
industry has become the major employer and source of revenue for the
island. Barbados now boasts to be one of the leading holiday
destinations of the world.
